HubSpot Updates for Partners- February Edition

Written by Ohad Peter | Feb 14, 2024 1:26:19 PM

The second Hubspot product update for 2024 has arrived, and it presents a line of impressive upgrades as well as less ideal news. What do we mean by that? Well, it has something to do with HubSpot’s new pricing plan starting March 5th of this year. Let’s dive in!

Seats-based pricing for all subscription tiers

Probably the most important (and controversial) update from this release. Starting March 5, 2024, HubSpot will roll out a seats-based pricing model to all Hubs and subscription tiers. The change will remove the minimum number of seats for Sales Hub and Service Hub and introduce the Core Seat and View-Only Seat.

Introducing HubSpot's New Pricing Model

Commerce hub goes international!

A well anticipated move by HubSpot. What was previously available in the US alone has become available worldwide - The Commerce Hub! In the last couple of years, HubSpot has been building a suite of commerce tools and payment processing capabilities called Commerce Hub. From February 6th, HubSpot users from outside the US have access to this tool. We will soon upload a separate blog post to our Knowledge Center, breaking down the Commerce Hub and its features, so stay tuned!

Enable Double Opt-In for Forms

Historically, it was only possible to enable/disable opt-in for select pages created in HubSpot.

With this change, you may choose to do so with forms of your choice as well. For example, if it’s mandatory in certain countries but not in others, you can choose which HubSpot forms use double opt-in and which doesn’t.

Associate Ad Accounts to Business Units

Ad accounts in HubSpot can now be associated with a Business Unit, so ad assets (such as campaigns, audiences, events, lead syncing, etc.) can be filtered by Business Unit.

Use Case

By associating and filtering your ad accounts by Business Unit, you will be able to better organize your ad assets.

Associated deal value: A new metric rolling out for Marketers

Marketing Pro customers get additional insights into the impact of their campaigns on revenue. The ‘Associated deal value’ metric sums the total deal value of the closed-won deals associated with a campaign. At this time it will only be available to Pro Hub users.

Social Composer Draft Experience

Using the new draft option on iOS and Android, marketers can create social posts faster than ever. Now you can create content simultaneously for all your social networks!

Use Case

  1. Create and edit posts for all your networks more quickly, including the publish time and campaign
  2. more clearly see existing features and new features at your fingertips for social post creation
  3. It is easier to learn how to create social media posts on mobile, since the new experience follows the same pattern and UI as HubSpot's other content creation tools.

Linkedin Documents Support

You can now publish and report on Linkedin documents (PDFs). In order to reach larger audiences and increase engagement, marketers should create and distribute various pieces of content as part of their organic social strategy.

Business owners can share pertinent information on Linkedin in a format that is more digestible for their audiences. Documents, whether they're reports, case studies, or sales information, are great for marketers to share long-form content.

Email Variable Domains

All marketing and transactional emails sent out of HubSpot without a Connected Email Sending Domain will be managed by a variable domain. As a result, your unauthenticated domain can be detected and removed automatically without canceling the send (although it may negatively affect your recipients' engagement with your emails).

Use Case

From February 2024, Google and Yahoo will require email authentication for all bulk senders. Unauthenticated emails will be automatically blocked or sent to spam. All HubSpot managed domains will be fully authenticated with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC. Through the variable domain process, you can ensure that your email will pass the necessary authentication checks even if you are sending with an unauthenticated domain.

One Click Unsubscribe

Update email headers to comply with one-click unsubscribe requirements.

Use Case

Starting February 2024, Google / Yahoo will enforce one-click unsubscribe. You’ll have to update your email header format to ensure compliance. Once this is released, unsubscribe rates may spike.

Audio Module in Pages & Blog

Any audio file can now be uploaded to their website, landing pages, or blog posts.

Use Case

You can bring both inclusive and interactive content to your website, landing pages, or blog posts by adding an audio module!

Deal Pipeline Rules

You can now set and manage rules for your deal pipelines, allowing you to better manage controls of your pipeline and protect the integrity of your data. Admins can use these rules for improved reporting, stage-driven workflows and data integrity

Currencies API

With the currencies API, you can now manage your multi currency experience in HubSpot in a new way. By using the currencies API, you can manage the currencies used in your HubSpot account, including setting the company currency, creating additional currencies, and updating currency exchange rates.

Use Case

By using this API, HubSpot customers can manage currencies without manually entering and updating exchange rates in "Currency Settings". By using the API, you can link to a trusted source for exchange rate updates, and schedule updates, so that market rates are reflected without human intervention.

Mobile Sales Email Enhancements

With the HubSpot mobile app, mobile sales reps can now prospect and sell from anywhere with enhanced mobile sales emails. HubSpot has added the ability to reply and reply-all to contacts early this year. With many more features added since then, the mobile sales email experience has been brought up to a high standard for mobile sales reps to benefit from direct communication with HubSpot.

Use Case

The new enhanced sales email experience allows mobile sales reps to compose and reply to emails directly from any CRM record (contact, deal, company, ticket, or custom object) or from the "+ > email floating menu" of the HubSpot mobile app on both iOS and Android.

Explicit View/Edit Permissions for Feedback Surveys

In this change, Admins can control whether a user with "Service Access" can access "Feedback Surveys". Admins can also grant explicit permissions for viewing and editing feedback surveys with this change.

Use Case

Instead of granting access to all service team members, customers would like to allow only certain team members to create, edit, and publish feedback surveys. It could ensure that only the right team members contact customers to collect feedback.

Deal Goals available in the Report Viewing Experience

Deal-based time series reports now include Goal Target data for all Deal-based goals with a single dimension (y-axis). In the "View and filter report" experience, users can add deal-based Goal target data to their reports via a new Goal selection dropdown. Various chart types are supported, including bars, columns, lines, and areas.

Use Case

In addition to providing important context for reports, goals also facilitate accountability and ownership. Customers frequently told HubSpot that viewing Goal Targets in Dashboard Reports would enrich reports in a meaningful way, providing better context into progress and allowing them to act on it..

Two-way activity sync for more data sync apps

For some existing data sync apps that were only syncing inbound data, HubSpot is enabling two-way activity sync. Copper, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, and Outreach are the data sync apps that benefit from this update.

Use Case

HubSpot now supports outbound synchronization of activities with several data sync applications.

Custom Code Descriptions

When viewing your workflow, you can now provide an optional description for the custom code action.

Use Case

The ability to provide a brief description of the action creates a more straightforward workflow-building process, while also encouraging better collaboration amongst teams of varying skill sets and levels.

New Stripe payment processing (BETA) now available in HubSpot Free Tools

The new Stripe payment processing (BETA) is now available to accounts with HubSpot Free Tools.

Use Case

The new Stripe payment processing (BETA) is now available for HubSpot Free Tools accounts. With Stripe, you can collect payments within the CRM and use Commerce Hub features for billing and invoicing. By using Stripe as your payment processor, you can accept credit card or ACH payments from your customers.

Updates to Custom Object & Property Limits

HubSpot is releasing a series of limit updates and new add-ons to empower data-intensive use cases as part of their commitment to their customers. A seamless experience is ensured at every stage of your journey with HubSpot's expanded product limits.

New list creation flow & the ability to sort by when records were added

Three key updates to the list creation experience:

  • See records that meet your filter criteria while your list is still processing
  • See all records that meet your filter criteria as soon as a list is complete
  • Sort by the 'Added to List Date' column on any list

Use Case

  1. Analyze a few records when creating a list: To ensure your criteria expectations are met, it is helpful to analyze a few records during list creation.
  2. Once a list is complete, you will see all the records that match the final list count in the table. Therefore, you can use your list for emails, reporting, or automation with confidence.
  3. You can better track the performance of your lists over time by sorting by the 'Added to List Date' column once your list is complete.

Customize default deal name

Deals created from existing contact and company records (and custom object records for Enterprise customers) can now be customized by admins. With the combination of personalization tokens and/or static text, customers will be able to customize the default deal name.

Use Case

Deals created from existing contact and company records currently have the string "-New Deal" appended to the end, which is both inflexible and contributes to data quality issues. Now admins can customize the default experience to fit their unique naming conventions while also reducing data quality issues. By following the right naming conventions, reps can spend less time manually entering data.

Suspicious Login Alerts

HubSpot's suspicious login alerts are emailed when it detects that a user is accessing HubSpot in an unfamiliar or risky way. Admins on accounts with these alerts enabled will receive an email containing the user's login details, so they can quickly follow up if anything unexpected happens.

Use Case

Today, administrators lack visibility into how their users log in to HubSpot, especially when those logins may be unexpected, leading to misuse. A lack of real-time notifications makes it difficult for admins to respond quickly to a potential incident or follow up with users.

Conditional Property Options for HubSpot-defined Properties

Conditions can now be defined for certain HubSpot-defined properties that will be reflected across the CRM. Based on the value of another property, you can filter down the options that can be selected for a given property.

For example: If "Deal Pipeline" = "Sales Pipeline", then for "Deal Type", only show "New Business".

Use Case

By surfacing only relevant property options to users, this feature improves the data-entry experience. Additionally, admins can control data quality by letting users know when there are mismatched options, and preventing them from saving incorrect ones.

Enroll in a HubSpot Sequence and Book a Meeting from NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics

If you're using NetSuite or Dynamics 365 as your CRM and HubSpot for prospecting, you can now enroll in a sequence or book meetings from a contact, lead, prospect, or customer in NetSuite through the HubSpot Embed. No need to jump back and forth between HubSpot and NetSuite like before.

Use HubSpot Chrome Extension in Salesforce

HubSpot Chrome extension now allows sales teams to work within Salesforce. From Salesforce, users can enroll contacts in sequences, send emails, make calls, and view HubSpot records.

Use Case

HubSpot’s customers who also use Salesforce prefer to keep their sales teams working inside Salesforce, but they want to make their reps more productive by leveraging HubSpot's Sales Engagement tools. However, salespeople have not been able to completely execute their sales workflow inside Salesforce. With HubSpot's chrome extension, sales teams can execute sales activities without ever leaving Salesforce.
