What's new in HubSpot? September Edition

The HubSpot platform has been known for some time now as the ultimate tool for B2B companies. Additionally, as HubSpot Certified Partners and customers ourselves, we also know that HubSpot's knowledge and innovations keep expanding every day.

Here are some of the most recent updates from HubSpot released just last week, and we wanted to share them with you, HubSpot fans:

Board Card Configuration per Pipeline 

Knowing the last date someone was contacted might be super important for one pipeline, and not important at all for another pipeline. With HubSpot's new update, admin users will now be able to configure each pipeline's board view, with the most relevant card properties for each specific pipeline. 

On HubSpot Professional and Enterprise plans, you can now configure each pipeline's board view with the most relevant card properties when viewing deals, tickets, or custom object records. 

Bulk Merge Duplicate Contacts and Companies

We often encounter HubSpot users having to deal with mass, sometimes thousands of deduplicates in their system. A long-awaited feature has now arrived as part of HubSpot's new series of updates - Bulk merge duplicates for contacts and companies.

Duplicate contact and company records can be bulk selected and merged from the duplicate management tool.

Improved Field Search Experience in Custom Report Builder


So far, cross-object reports could be generated for contacts, companies, deals, and tickets. For marketing emails, blogs, or any HubSpot data that isn't considered a "standard object" - it was missing altogether. This resulted in countless hours spent exporting, joining, and building reports in Excel.

The new custom report builder brings all HubSpot data into one place, allowing you to answer specific questions that span the Flywheel!

Reports can now be generated more quickly and easily with two improvements to the field search function in the custom report builder:

  • Typos can be parsed through a better search algorithm
  • Fields can be filtered based on their data source, field type, and field group

Parent-Child Company Associations in Import

“Because I have between five and 300 child companies, I really don't want to have to manually set up all the relationships. I also have thousands of contacts whose companies need to be linked.

The "Parent company" property can now be included in a company import file to create parent-child associations automatically. Each parent company can have up to 10,000 associated child companies, but a child company can only be associated with one parent company. 

You can add child companies to parent companies in bulk through an import. The parent companies must already exist in your CRM before you import the child companies.

Create and Edit Default Right Sidebars for Specific Teams

The properties sidebar on the left side of a record displays certain properties and the record's values for those properties. 

The right sidebar of CRM record pages can now be customized for specific teams, giving you the ability to display relevant information or hide irrelevant information.

Users can now customize which properties and sections appear by default in the sidebar for each object. Individual users can also customize their own About section to display additional properties beyond those included by default.
