Upload files to use in your HubSpot content

In HubSpot, you can upload files to the files tool and use them in your HubSpot content. Once uploaded, your images, fonts, audio files, PDFs, and other files will be hosted on HubSpot's content delivery network servers

After uploading your files, you can organize, edit, and delete them, or insert them into your content. You can also share files directly by providing a download link to a file

By default, files uploaded to the files tool are hosted on a public file URL. If you don't want your files to be visible to search engines, learn how to customize the visibility of your file URL.

Please note:

  • Files uploaded to the files tool are hosted on a public CDN file URL by default. HubSpot does not support the management of sensitive information. For more information, please see our Terms of Service.
  • Over the next few months, HubSpot will be moving to new default file hosting domains. Existing f.hubspotusercontentxx.net and cdn2.hubspot.net URLs will continue to work, but images in HubSpot pages will automatically update to the new URL. If you're experiencing loading images on HubSpot pages, please add these domains to your network or office's firewall allowlist and try again:
    • [portalID].fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net
    • [portalID].fs2.hubspotusercontent-na1.net
    • [portalID].fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net
    • [portalID].fs2.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net
Upload files

Before uploading a file, review the file tool's supported file types and sizes. While there is no strict size limit for the number or size of files you upload, it's recommended that you upload files below 1 GB in size.

You can only upload up to 100 files at a time through the files tool. If you want to efficiently upload a significant number of files to your HubSpot account, you can upload them using the external auth API. Learn more about using the file upload API in HubSpot's developer documentation.

  • Navigate to the files tool:
    • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Files and Templates > Files.
    • If you have a Marketing Hub Starter account, navigate to Marketing > Files
    • If you're using HubSpot’s free tools, navigate to Marketing > Email. In the left sidebar menu, click the More tools dropdown menu, then select Files.
  • Click Upload files.

  • Browse your computer's hard drive for files to upload. Select your files and click OpenYou can also drag and drop files in the open file manager window to upload them to the folder you're in.

When using HubSpot Video in your files tool, the file size may be reduced after upload. Vidyard compresses the file to reduce the amount of bandwidth the video requires when playing. To view the size of an uploaded video in HubSpot:

  • Click the name of a file.
  • In the right panel, HubSpot will display the File size.

Use uploaded files in your content

After you upload your files, you can use them as images, videos, or file download links in your HubSpot content. Learn more about inserting files into your content with the guides below:

To add videos into your HubSpot content, ensure that the Allow embedding, sharing, and tracking switch is toggled on.

Please note: in order for the section This file is used in to populate, the email or page that contains the file must be sent or published respectively.
