HubSpot Insights is a database of company information gathered by HubSpot through third-party sources, web crawling, and crowdsourcing. As HubSpot receives new information, it is updated in real-time.
If HubSpot Insights is enabled, the following behavior is expected:
- When you create a company with a company domain name, HubSpot Insights will be used to update the company record. The data in HubSpot Insights may not match the data you collected on the company because it is gathered from multiple sources.
- It is also possible for HubSpot Insights to populate company information in activities where the domain name of the company is included. For example, if a contact submits a form and their email contains a company domain (e.g. example@hubspot.com), the form submission email notification will include data tied to the domain (hubspot.com).
- The HubSpot Insights property values may be updated over time, and may even be used to improve the existing database in some cases.

HubSpot Insights will not overwrite the values added by your account's users.

The values added via API, integrations, imports, or data migrations will typically not be overwritten by HubSpot Insights. However, HubSpot Insights may set values as your data is being added. To avoid overwriting data, it is recommended to disable HubSpot Insights prior to migrating or syncing data. The feature can be enabled after your data has been added, and the values will not be overwritten going forward.

- HubSpot Insights may not populate the properties of a company with a free email domain (e.g., gmail.com), depending on how the company was created. To populate values with Insights, you must manually create the company.

HubSpot Insights attempts to pull data into the following default company properties:
- Annual revenue
- City
- Country
- Description
- Facebook company page
- Industry
- Is public
- LinkedIn bio
- LinkedIn company page
- Name
- Number of employees
- Phone number
- Postal code
- State/Region
- Street address
- Street address 2
- Time zone
- Total money raised
- X account handle
- Web Technologies
- Website URL
- Year founded
Disable HubSpot Insights
To disable HubSpot Insights:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Objects > Companies.
- In the Automation section, clear the Fill company properties using HubSpot Insights database checkbox.
