Asana pricing, questions answered

How much is Asana per user in 2026?
Personal is free; Starter $10.99/user/mo; Advanced $24.99/user/mo (annual — monthly is $13.49 and $30.49); Enterprise by quote. Paid tiers have a 2-seat minimum. Verified July 2026.
Is there a free Asana plan, and how many users?
Yes — the free Personal plan, which caps at 2 users (accounts created before 11 Dec 2025 keep the legacy 10). It still gives unlimited tasks, projects and list/board/calendar views; teams outgrow it fast once they need more seats, timelines or reporting.
What's the difference between Asana Starter and Advanced?
Starter adds timeline/Gantt, the Workflow Builder, forms and dashboards. Advanced adds goals/OKRs, unlimited portfolios, native time tracking and advanced reporting — the reason most B2B teams choose it.
Does Asana have a seat minimum, and how do seats scale?
Paid tiers have a 2-seat minimum and you buy the number of seats you need. Very large organizations add seats in increments of 25 (up to 500 users) or 50 beyond that. Worth sizing before you commit.
Does Asana include AI — and are there AI credits?
Yes — Asana's smart features are included on paid tiers, and the heavy engine, AI Studio, runs on credits: roughly 50,000/month on Starter (75,000 Advanced, 200,000 Enterprise), pooled across the whole account, not per user. A few power users building AI rules can drain the shared pool, so watch the allowance.
Are Asana automations and rules unlimited?
Asana markets "unlimited automations" on Starter, but there's a catch — a monthly cap on rule-actions. Advanced removes that cap, which is a common reason teams upgrade.
What's unlimited in Asana, and what's capped?
Tasks, projects, storage, comments and messages are unlimited on every tier (including Free) — individual file uploads are capped at 100MB. Tiered: portfolios (unlimited on Advanced), goals/OKRs (Advanced+), native time tracking (Advanced), and rule-actions (capped on Starter).
How many portfolios, integrations and custom fields do I get?
Portfolios: limited on Starter, unlimited on Advanced. Integrations: 100+ on every paid tier, with Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI and 2-way Jira on Advanced. Custom fields on all paid tiers; formula fields on Advanced.
Is Asana cheaper annually?
Yes — annual is notably cheaper: Starter $10.99/user/mo annual vs $13.49 monthly; Advanced $24.99 vs $30.49. The prices shown here are annual.
Which Asana plan is right for a B2B team?
Most land on Advanced — it's where portfolios, goals, reporting and the removed automation cap live. IV-LEAD sizes the tier to how you actually run projects and sets it up so it sticks.
