Integrate Asana with your Microsoft Office 365 Inbox
Asana has been the subject of several of our posts before. This incredible tool offers its users with task management solutions unlike any other. In this article, we explore Asana's connectivity with Microsoft's Office 365 Outlook email software.
How does the Asana-Microsoft Office 365 Connector work?
Plan and execute your projects in Asana, right where you communicate. Ensure that you know when someone in your Office 365 group creates a task, completes a task, or comments on a task. It is possible to set notifications for specific projects, so you can keep track of updates on a project-by-project basis. The Connector notifications will appear in Microsoft Outlook Groups, in Office 365-connected Yammer Groups, and in Microsoft Teams.
Ways to use Asana for Outlook
Turn emails into tasks
Action items you receive via email, such as reviewing work from your agency or requesting design assets from a partner, can now be added to Asana directly from Outlook. Once you've assigned the task to yourself or a teammate, set a due date, and added it to a project, it will be connected to other relevant work.
From the Outlook top bar, click Create Task to turn the email into a task. With Asana Rules, you can automatically trigger actions on tasks created from Outlook.
Add emails to existing task
You probably don't copy your entire team on every email chain that includes information they need. It is impossible for them to do their work effectively unless they have these details and context. By clicking Related Tasks in the Outlook top bar, finding the task you'd like to add the email to, and clicking Attach Message, you can now attach the email to an existing Asana task as a comment directly from Outlook.
Get started with the Office 365 Connector
- Sign in to Outlook Online.
- Select "Manage connectors" from the settings menu.
- Add Asana from the list of available connectors.
- Set up your account, workspace, and desired notifications.
Connectors are available for customers with Office 365 business subscriptions. Office 365 Dedicated and Exchange on-premises customers cannot use it.
Using multiple Outlook accounts? Configure HubSpot to distinguish between desired inboxes
If you hold several email accounts and don't want HubSpot to automatically track all emails sent from them, there are several inbox connection options for you. The first option is to connect one email address to two different HubSpot accounts. Another option is to connect two inboxes to one HubSpot account. In addition, you can deactivate the sales plug-in and use the HubSpot BCC in the email you wish to track.
Utilize Asana to collaborate effortlessly
From the little things to the big picture, Asana helps teams stay on top of what needs to be done, why it matters, and how it needs to be done. You can get started for free, it's easy to use, and it's powerful enough to run your entire business from one platform.
